In recent months, Beach Road, Tahunanui, has been torn up and reconstructed. This pic was taken when work had reached the intersection of Waikare Street. This road carries a tremendous volume of traffic during the summer months when the motor camp is filled with holiday-makers.

From the outside the old post Office at Port Nelson looks as solid as a rock. But its foundations are not so solid and the building is condemned and will shortly be demolished. A new Post Office will eventually be erected on the same site. In the meantime a temporary Post Office is in use at the rear of the building (extreme right).
