Tv Reception Improves

The installation of the new TV translator 2700ft up on Takaka Hill has improved reception for those beamed on to the station beyond recognition – or should we say, to the stage where the picture can not only be recognised but seen without strain or snow blizzards, But not all viewers in Nelson are able to beam their aerials to Takaka and so they will have to await patiently the adjustments to the Princes Drive translator. When these have been completed, viewers beamed on to princes Drive will receive a signal 24 times as strong as they received before the translator was converted.

Those viewers throughout the district who now have good Viewing, can thank the men on this page, and several others, for the no small effort they put in to get the Takaka Hill translator erected and functioning. They are, Earl Drummond, Vic Bolitho, Jim Stone, joe Blake, Carol Haines, Ross Wilkes, Roger Fowler, Charlie Teece, Jim Best, Lou Wensley, Stan Lankow, Don Bothwell, Jack Wilson, Bill Simpson, Roger Stewart, Neville Hannen, Gordon McPherson.
