Car Washing Scheme Helps Whareama

The price of £2 for a car wash and polish might seem a very high one, but 25 car owners in Nelson and Richmond responded to the offer of the Round Table to pick up, clean, wash, polish and return vehicles for this sum, for they knew that not only were they receiving value for their £2, but that they were helping a worthy cause. The money collected, a little more than £50, will be used to buy a special bed in the new hospital wing to be built at Whareama Home. About 20 members of the Round Table worked on this their first project.
