Eleven members of the Raye Leitch School of Dancing, Nelson, travelled to Greymouth to compete in the 50th competitions festival. They were Susan Wilson, Dawn Duncan, Jean Black, Judith Winter, Mary Netto, Sheena Waters, Celia Hippolite, Patsy Netto, Jane Wilson, Jenny Crooks and Kathy Waters.

Alec Mclntyre, a foundation member of the Nelson Savage Club, is presented with a brief-ease by Dave Neighbours. Alec has accepted a position of headmaster at the Dobson School.
