Post Planter

A simple device for erecting fence posts quickly, invented and patented by a Tennyson Inlet farmer, Roy Archer, was demonstrated in Nelson last month. With it, Roy has been able to erect two posts a minute over undulating and difficult country. As can be seen from the pic at left, the post is pushed into the ground by the weight of a dozer blade on the planter. That's Roy demonstrating.

Roy shows his invention to Peter Maplesden (Conservator of Forests), John Goddard (Fairway Services, who will market it), John Ball (Ministry of Works), Geoff Toynbee (city engineer), and Keith Arres (Commissioner of Crown Lands).
