National Skating Titles
The Amateur Roller Skating Association of New Zealand's championships were held in Nelson during the holiday period. Like many other sports, the skating had to contend with the same changeable weather, but the smooth organisation and running of the events allowed the programme to be completed in time. In the roller hockey, Petone won the A grade title and Nelson won the B grade. There was some extremely graceful, artistic skating in this section and in the speed section there were thrills aplenty.
