Road-e-o for Teenagers

Forty teen-age drivers, including nine girls, competed in the Nelson Jaycee's first teenage safe driving Road-eo at Nelson airport. The contestants had to negotiate a course simulating conditions that would apply on the roads. It was quite an exhaustive test of their skill and points were deducted wherever a contestant failed to comply with the rules of the road or was faulted in the tests. The contest was won by Bruce Cooke with 510 marks out of 570 and he represented Nelson at the national final.
