Biggest painting job in Nelson a few weeks ago was undertaken by John Vinerand Alex McKay when they commenced the painting of the hangars at the airport. The hangars, it was quite obvious, had not seen a paint brush since they were last painted during the Second World War.
Mr T. A. Glendinning, 14 Alton Place, Nelson, who recently celebrated his 92nd birthday. Mr Glendinning, a noted scientist, was recently awarded an Honorary Fellowship of the New Zealand Institute of Chemistry. Post primary pupils will know him better as the author of chemistry text books.
Members of the Nelson Pistol Club with Sergeant Ray Mitchell and Mrs Mitchell after they had been presented with a framed colour photograph of Nelson. Sergeant Mitchell, who has transferred to Pahiatua as police station sergeant, was a foundation member of the club.
