Girls' Hockey Tourney

In a tense game, Timaru High School beat Waimea College in the final of the New Zealand secondary schoolgirls' hockey tournament. Twelve teams from all over the Dominion competed in the tournament, In the final, Timaru showed too much enterprise for Waimea, and solid and determined tackling broke up many Waimea attacks. Timaru won 2-1.
