To raise funds for the visit to Wellington later this year of High School pupils, a gala was held in the grounds of the Collingwood District High School. Highlight of the day was the underwater display by Messrs Helem and Garland (left) while pillow-fighting was another competition into which the boys entered with enthusiasm. An innovation was a knitting contest (bottom left) competing in which are Mesdames R. Taylor, A. Page, N. Strange, W. J. Solly and R. P. Riley. (Pix supplied by Jack Solly).
