After lying for some months on the reclamation, many of the logs shipped to Japan in the Daisen recently were found to contain a grub and all affected had to have the bark stripped from them. This killed the bug.

After its overhaul, the suction dredge Karitea had to have its suction ladder re-installed - no easy job when it weighs 12 ton and has to be manoeuvred into a very small space. With the help of a very high tide and a crane, however, the job didn't prove difficult.
