Best Garden Contest

After a lapse of several years the Nelson "Best Garden Contest" was re-introduced, this time organised by the Nelson Jaycee. The winners of the individual award were Mr and Mrs A. T. Boyd-Turner, 12 Lemari Avenue, Stoke. The award for the best street also went to Stoke, the judges, Messrs D. H. Leigh, C. Rhodes and A. Bowman, choosing Bledisloe Avenue. In each instance, the winners received wrought-iron plaques made by Jaycee member, Tom Chivers.
