National Finn Yachting Titles

×

Ralph Roberts, New Zealand representative at the last Olympic Games, and the national Finn titleholder, retained his title when the New Zealand Finn championships were sailed at Nelson last month. Competitors, 35 of them from all parts of the Dominion, found varying conditions at Nelson, ranging from a very heavy swell on the first day, to very light winds on several other days. These pictures were taken during the running of the fifth race, when conditions were very light. This race was won by Dave Newell, second for the title, who, with Ralph, will represent New Zealand at the world Finn class championships at Holland later this year.
