Nelson's Christmas

While a lot of the young fry were celebrating Christmas Eve with squeakers and horseplay in the main shopping area in Trafalgar Street, many other youngsters joined their parents at the church steps for carols by candlelight. A big crowd joined in the singing of favourite carols.

Another Christmas scene - Father Christmas makes a speedy trip along Trafalgar Street.

Just before Christmas we took a trip to the most northern outpost of "Photo News": Pakawau. We found we were just in time for the Pakawau School's Christmas party. The kiddies had a wonderful time. All received a present from the Christmas tree and games, ice-cream and a surfeit of sweets mads the 1962 break-up a memorable affair.
