Swimming Carnival
Additional accommodation was provided this year but still there was not sufficient room to hold the big crowd which attended the Nelson Swimming Club's New Year carnival at the Municipal Pool. Some excellent diving and some burlesque diving from the high board, were features of the carnival.
Nelson sportsman Syd Guppy who swam in the 100 yds open breaststroke a week after his 60th birthday, was third and congratulates Rae Mckenzie on her second place.
