Hawke Cup Time Again

By the time this issue is published Nelson will have met - and repulsed, we hope - its 17th challenge for the Hawke Cup. Its first match this year, against Poverty Bay, had the local boys quite worried for with the very wet spell the first two Saturdays' play in the cricket competitions were abandoned and time for the first match was approaching. Solid practice by the 21-man squad, however, showed that lack of early season play had not affected form and that the team for the first match, on this page, should be a strong one.
