Centenary of All Saints
One hundred years ago last month at the request of the vestry of Christ Church, a new parish, that of All Saints, was born. Celebrations to mark the centenary of the parish were held in Nelson last month. They were attended by the Archbishop of New Zealand, the Most Rev. N. A. Lesser, and present and former parishioners from many parts of the Dominion, Only the weather, which caused the abandonment of a garden party at Bishopdale, prevented the celebrations from being a complete success. Much time and effort was put into a historical exhibition, the centenary religious services were fully attended and it is doubtful if Marsden Hall could have accommodated any more for the official dinner.
