A Bluegum Bites the Dust

Before any real progress could be wade with the sub-division of an area of land Just off Nayland Road, Stoke, an old bluegum had to be felled. But it wasn't quite as easy as it sounds. The bluegum didn't want to come down and it wasn't until bulldozers had literally cut the soil (or slush, it was then) front under the roots, that the combined power of two dossers was sufficient to topple the gaint.
