Growth of business in Nelson decided the South Island Motor Union to build its own premises here. Also in Halifax Street and nearly opposite the Automobile Association, the new building will be of two storeys, the top section let as office space.

It should not be long before the scaffolding around the new building of Messrs Griffin and Hodgson, on Trafalgar Street, next to the bridge, is removed.
