Combined Banks Ball

Someone had worked hard to make the annual ball of the combined Nelson banks a very successful one. That was the impression we received when we stepped into the colourfully-deco-rated Stoke hall. Around the walls, caught in the mesh of nets and suspended from the ceiling were all sorts of decorations and the alcoves, set off by trellis work, were festooned with spring blossom.
