More Fun For The Scots
You have to hand it to the Scots. Not content with tripping the light fantastic at the highland ball the previous night, hundreds crawled out of bed on the Saturday morning to give a real Scots' welcome to touring Jimmy Shand, Kenneth McKellar and Company at the airport. The pipe band, young Highland dancers and members of the Scottish Country Dancing Club made a braw sight as they lined up to welcome these famous visitors. And what of the show they gave? Packed houses on two nights acclaimed the swing of Jimmy Shand's music and the lilt and beauty of the voices of Kenneth McKellar and Moira Anderson. Comedians Jimmy Warren and Duncan Macrae didn't have to work hard for laughs. So successful was the show that Kerridge-Odeon decided to bring it back for another night on August 13.
