Outstanding individual competitor at this year's athletics sports meeting at Nelson College, was Graeme Hall Watson. He took the senior title after winning eight events and added 3¼ ins to the long jump record of 21 ft 0¾ ins. In the intermediate section, M. F. Prince was also outstanding. He won the title and established two new records.
