Dominion Nurses Confer in Nslson

×

For a few days, about 230 nurses from all parts of New Zealand laid aside their uniforms and medical instruments, to discuss all sorts of matters relating to the nursing profession. Venue for this year's conference of the Registered Nurses' Association, was Nelson, and Nelson was pleased to play host to them. National conferences are by no means new to Nelson, but it is not very often that conferences as large as that of the registered nurses are held either here, or anywhere else in the country. The proceedings were opened by the Minister of Health (Mr R. McKay), and Dr H. G. Turbott, Director General of Health, was also present. This pic was taken as delegates and observers commenced work in the School of Music.
