Nelson district M.U.I.O.O.F. members rolled up in force to hear and greet New Zealand Grand Master, Mr N. F. Smith, in the Oddfellows Hall. A total of 133 years membership of the order is the record of these three, Mr K. Lafrentz, his daughter Mrs F. Kingston, and son A. J. Lafrentz. Mr Lafrentz senior has been a member for 69 years, Mrs Kingston for 33 and Mr Lafrentz Jnr. for 31 years.

Lovely blooms, brought to perfection by lots of liquid sunshine, filled the Nelson Sports Hall for the horticultural society's annual dahlia show. At left, visitors admire the displays, and below right, Mrs R. G. Fowler's best large decorative dahlia.
