Boys' Home Benefits From Quiz Show

The John Maybury show, "Take the Stake" and "It's on the Cards", was a very popular draw at Tahuna. Organised by the Celtic Rugby Club, the show drew over $200 worth of patrons, the proceeds going to the Sunnybank Home swimming pool fund. No big prizes were won, but Kay Fletcher, Nelson dietitian, came extremely close to scooping the $200 prize when she was only one year out with her answer to a question. Several other items were presented, including an exhibition of quick-draw shooting by Mr Donaldson Law, And what an exhibition it was!
