Iris Convention
Iris growers from many parts of New Zealand attended the 23rd annual N.Z. Iris Convention, held in Nelson, recently. The visitors were certainly impressed by the number of gardens and the quality of flowers in the city.
Admiring a Nelson iris are Mrs Marie Turnbull (Christchurch), immediate past president. Heather Collins (Winchester), librarian, Cecil Forsyth (Wairoa), tutor for the judging school and a past president. Ken Blakemore (Timaru), president, and Mrs Jean Collins (Tauranga), secretary-treasurer
Checking notes were Mesdames K. A. Blakemore (Timaru) and A. T. Malcolm (Richmond)
Admiring blooms were Mesdames V. L. Hall (Te Awamutu) and M. S. Walter (Culverden)
This group paid a visit to the roses of Broadgreen. Unfortunately, the group split up after the photo was taken and names did not tally with the print
Just relaxing: Mesdames H. Dee (Stoke), E. Gausel, Lucy Fowler (Lumsden) and Lucy Delany (Nelson)
