Poultry on Show
The days when the Nelson Poultry, Pigeon and Cage Bird Association struggled to hold shows are definitely over. Each year, more and more entries are received, and this year was no exception. Entries were high and of fine quality.

Mr and Mrs M. Anwyll and their daughter Mary were among visitors to the two-day show
There's always been a Hockey in the catalogue, and this time was no exception. Mr F. Hockey (left) has been exhibiting for over 70 years and his father, Mr J. Hockey, was a foundation member of the association. Mr Hockey is recognised as one of the top exhibitors in New Zealand. With him is another long-standing exhibitor, Mr G. H. Harris, who has been competing in the show for over 50 years
Russell and Owen Bartlett admire their champion Golden Hamburgs, which gained first prizes in the junior and light breed sections. Obscured is their mother, Mrs Kay Bartlett
Association president Bill Wehner, of Richmond, judged the ducks, and he reckons this champion duck of the show, entered by Marion MacPherson, of Nelson, is a perfect White Pekin, and the best he's seen
