Waimea College Wins Girls' Life-Saving Trophy

Fine teamwork by Waimea College girls paved the way to their win over defending champions, Nelson College for Girls', in the annual Rosebowl Life Saving competition at the Muni­cipal Baths, Nelson College retained the boys' trophy.

For the first time in several years, a team from Golden Bay competed. The headmaster of Golden Bay High School, Mr C. B. Newenham, left, brought the team over. The members are Anna Whitton, Christine Hodgkinson, Faye McKenzie, Rosalyn Clarke and Connie Charlton
