After 11 years of fairly average bloom production, the bulb of this Lily Aratium, grown by Hector and Miriel McIsaac, amazed everyone by having about 80 blooms. Its best prior effort was 17 blooms and last year had five. Unfortunately the photographer, Ian Skinner, could not fit in all the lilies.

Among those at the opening of the new R.S.A. club rooms were Mr and Mrs J. Hewlett and Mr and Mrs R. Nicholas.

If awards were given to keen cricket fans, the Rackleys would probably get one: At the C.D. v. Canterbury match were Dean, Les and Joyce.

Also at the opening of the R.S.A. were Charlie Thomson, Ken Strange, a former president, Bevan Brough and Jack Webbey.

The Nelson Photographic Society was host to a meeting of provincial clubs recently. The photograph shows members relaxing over a cuppa at Port Nelson. Wonder what the main topic is? Visitors from Motueka, Golden Bay, Murchison, Wakefield and Blenheim attended. (A. W. Sutherland Photo).
