All-Women Tournament
Looks like Women's Lib has come to indoor bowls. For the first time in Nelson, a tournament for women's fours was held. And very successfully, too. It appears the event will become an annual one. However, there were a few men involved in running the tournament.
One of the oldest players was 76-year-old Mrs M. Pettit of Toi Toi
Watching the result of her shot is another veteran, Mrs E. Gill, 76, of Wakefield
And here goes a winner. Concentration shows on the face of Mrs B. Fox, Unilever
Opposing skips, Mary Davenport, Stoke, and Grace Della Bosca, United, spare a moment for the camera
Intently watching play are Audrey Canter, Tahuna, Mary Ferris, Golden Links, and Nola Laity, Golden Links
Marcia Reeves, Stoke, plays a shot
Conferring over the head are Richmond players Maisie Barron and Skip Helen Murray
"Where's that going?" Mrs J. Anicich, one of a Hope four, watches her shot go down the mat
