Off on a wide-ranging trip which will take in the Munich Olympics are Bruce Warren and Tim Varley. They intend spending about six months in Australia, before heading for Europe. Bruce was vice-captain of the Nelson Bays junior rugby team and Tim was a prominent sprinter at representative level.

Welcome to Nelson to Mrs Nanda Weerekoon and her daughter Jameelah. Mrs Weerekoon is the wife of Dr Lloyd Weerekoon, who is an eye surgeon at Nelson Hospital. They came here from Malaysia but are originally from Ceylon. Jameeleh is at Nelson College for Girls and her brother Rohan is waiting to start studying medicine.

Also bound for the Munich Olympics next year is Peter Ammundsen, son of Mr and Mrs F. H. Ammundsen of Richmond. Peter, who is now working with an accountancy firm in Wellington, recently turned 21. He has been capped for a Bachelor of Commerce and Administration Degree at Victoria University. Peter's trip next year will almost be a world one, and he will be away for seven or eight months.

Recent visitors to Nelson were Nick and Kathleen Hager of Compeer, Alberta, Canada. They stayed with John and Pauline Jary of 201 Hill Street, Richmond. With them is Carolyn Jary. Mrs Hager is Mr Jary's cousin and it is only in the last six years that they have traced each other. She was formerly Kathleen Jary and her father went to Canada when he was 18.
