Shield Stays for Another Year

Once again, Nelson Bays are in debt to fullback Trevor Morris. Being the kind of guy he is Morris probably would not consider himself Bays' "shield retainer, " but after the final challenge of the season for the Seddon Shield many a Buller supporter commented - "One man beat us."

Bays' beat Buller at Motueka, 18-6, and 15 of those points were scored by Morris. He landed four penalty goals and a dropped goal. Terry Mitchell added a fine winger's try. For Buller Gerald Hart kicked a penalty and H. Pablecheque scored a try.
