"Earthquake" Strikes Stoke

A civil defence exercise involving the sub-area Stoke and sectors "I" "K" and "M" indicated many wardens in the Nelson organisation still have not had sufficient knowledge to successfully handle similar exercises. The Civil Defence organiser, Captain C. M. Simister, said members of the corps should show more interest by attending lectures which were held from time to time. However, he was pleased with the manner in which the communication was organised. An "earthquake" struck the area and sectors had to report damage, etc. to headquarters at Nayland College.
