Schoolboy Golf Championships

If some of the competitors in the recent Nelson district schoolboys' golf event can maintain their present nerveless approach to the game, one thing's for sure — there are going to be a lot of deadly putters around in a few years. Even competitors on high handicaps seemed capable of sinking them from almost anywhere. The event was held at Greenacres and is another valuable step in the promotion of junior golf by the Eagles Golfing Society of Nelson and Marlborough.

The long and the short of it. Craig Gordon, 12, of Greenacres, is not as tall as Roel Keizer, 16, of Totaradale, but he plays a mean game of golf. Other members of the four are Gregory Fish, 13, and Henry Wopereis, 14, of Greenacres
