A former Nelsonian, Graeme Smith, was president of the Geraldton, West Australia, chapter of Jaycee. Here Graeme, right, and his wife Annette are seated with the World President of Jaycee, Graham Sinclair, Ashburton. At the rear are representatives of Geraldton high schools who attended a dinner given for Mr Sinclair. Graeme worked with the South British Insurance Co. in Nelson. This function in Geraldton was his last official duty before leaving for Dampier, a mining town 500 miles north of Geraldton

The McLauchlans have gone farming again. After living for six years at Dodson's Valley, Rex McLauchlan and his family have shifted to a farm at Pahiatua. They came here from a farm in Queen Charlotte Sound. While here, Rex has been felling trees for the last two years and prior to that he was with Chamberlain Construction.
