Daines Claims Golf Title

Marlborough's Graeme Daines scored a three-round total of 220 to win the Nelson provincial stroke-play championship at Greenacres. Graeme Lummis, Nelson, was second with 228. Defending champion Murray Gyde scored a disappointing 231 but had his revenge a fortnight later, winning the Waimea title.
