The Gallops Were Popular

The Nelson Jockey Club's annual race meeting attracted large crowds on both days, and if punters went broke there were a variety of fashions to gaze at, and looking is free. The blue riband event, the Nelson Cup, was won for the third time by Gold Mint, winner of the 1968 and 1970 Cups.
