The cattle at the Thorndale range are well gun-trained. A beast casually crosses the line of fire during the Nelson district championship but a white flag was not needed. The shooters held fire.

Looks like Doc Holliday heading for the punch-up at the O.K. corral but it's Sq. Ldr Smith (Smithy) who was starter at the Girls' College sports. That weapon would make a fine riot gun.

Sherwood Archery Club captain, John McKay, has a shot at the target during the club's field championship while Donald Knight, George McKay and Alex Douglas look on. That smoke in the hills could be the Apache signalling that the "white-eyes" are pretty good shots.
