They all Start with "M"
As the shadows lengthen with the approach of winter it seems logical skirt lengths will follow suit. The mini has braved four winters now and the time is ripe for change.
At least that's what clothes manufacturers and retailers are hoping. The trend to the longer look is taking time - an agonisingly slow time for many retailers whose racks are heavy with midis. But a hope prevails that the fashion-conscious - and a nippy winter - will convert women to the below-the-knee style.
Our Social Pages Editor, Patti Skinner, who models the gear on this page, recently visited Australia. There she found many minis and slacks and a sprinkling of midis. Like New Zealand, Australia has yet to experience a winter with the new style. Could be interesting.
"Photo News" takes a look at what's offering, although it would be impossible to feature all the gear that's available, and we also have some comments from ladies in the know. Remember the opposition to the mini? The midi is experiencing the same, but a change appears inevitable.
