Voting Age Radically Reduced

The seeds of democracy have been sown early at Broadgreen Intermediate.

Pupils at that school went to the polls recently to elect a school council. There is no prefect system there and the council will be responsible to the eight classrooms it represents. Each room has a representative on the council.

"It gives the children an opportunity to accept responsibility", said headmaster Neville Butler.

And it has also given the children an insight into elections.
