All the fanfare was for reporters from "The Mail" and Nzbc personalities, and others, but when it came down to tacks the Richmond Highland Pipe Band produced the winner in the feature event at a recent meeting of the Tasman Stock Car Club. Ian McWhinnie ploughed around the track, and through other competitors, on his victorious way. Actually the race had little excitement and succeeding events on the programme proved more entertaining as the veteran drivers exhibited their skill and daring.
