Introducing...

Dental nurses Helen Sim and Linda Matheson, of Central School, pause for a moment to have a yarn to us. Helen is single, comes from Ashburton and has been a dental nurse at Central since February. She plays indoor basketball and tennis and likes to relax with knitting. Linda is married (a fairly newly-wed) and comes from Reefton. She's been a dental nurse for two years and, like Helen, came to Nelson in February. Indoor basketball and Continental cooking are her main interests. The little patient is Michael Lagrutta.

Two Enterprise printers we ran across recently were Bill Kiernander and Colin Hodgkinson. Bill, a bachelor, came to Nelson from Wellington 2½ years ago and he's been in the printing game for 27 years. He coaches the Federal senior hockey team, plays bowls and the odd game of cricket. Colin is married and has been a printer for 12 years (before coming to Nelson he lived in Tapawera). His hobbies include home gardening, gold prospecting and whitebaiting.

Sheila Stephens is a widow, of no tender years, but years never worried her when she set off to tramp the Heaphy Track (something she's done more than once). She is now working for Enterprise Printers. She has lived in Nelson all her life and when she has time likes to read.

Deer stalking, especially with antique firearms, is the main leisure interest of Brian Scott, a reserves department employee. Brian came to New Zealand from Ayrshire, Scotland, 14 years ago. He's married, with two children, and has lived in Nelson for six years.

Gas is the business of Phil Christian, service manager in Nelson for New Zealand Industrial Gases. He's a bachelor and has lived here almost all his life. He's a keen angler, boatie and photographer.
