The log ship Eastern Beauty appears about to go aground on the Fifeshire Rock as she leaves port with a full load. Not so, however. The photograph was taken from Tahunanui Beach. The 600mm lens used has foreshortened the scene giving the impression of approaching catastrophe.

Airport caretaker, Ralph Harvey, having a look at a relic of the past - a horse-drawn water waggon used for spraying the roads quite a few years ago. At Bottom Left, the mechanism used for spreading the water. The water dropped on to revolving discs which flung it across the roadway.
