Roving Camera
A well-known figure in the Murchison district, Joe Scetrini, at 85, had his first air trip recently when he flew to Auckland on holiday. Joe, of Gowan Bridge, is a roadman employed by the Ministry of Works and is believed to be the oldest Government employee in New Zealand. He has been in the service for over 50 years.
Appreciation of the work done for the Nelson College Old Boys' Association as its president for 14 years, was expressed to Mr Russell Palmer in a tangible form when members presented him with a silver coffee urn. Making the presentation is present president, Mr M. A. Nightingale.
In a huddle at Old Collegians' ball, Mr and Mrs A. D. Fountain, Mr and Mrs R. S. Duncan and Mr and Mrs W. S. Moorhouse.
Also in a huddle (but of a different kind) at the ball are Mr and Mrs Ron Fletcher, Mrs Barbara Marsack and Mr Peter Vining.
