Halsey Logan is very proud of this mashed-up Nissan Patrol overland-type vehicle. So he should be. The vehicle was carrying three young men from Richmond, who were working on a fencing contract in the back country behind Kaikoura, when the vehicle tumbled from a steep ridge down more than 300ft of sheer hillside. It was estimated the vehicle turned over about 30 times on the way down. Later, however, it was winched out and driven back to Nelson. Not a bad sort of advertisement.
