Ready for Christmas

With a bit of luck, and barrels of midnight oil, Jack Baigent hopes to have his 57ft ketch into the water by Christmas. Thus will end 8 years of concentrated effort by Jack into building what is a very fine motorsailer, we visited Jack's workshop recently to record these pix as the boat began to near completion. Top: The boat already has its first coat of paint. Above: The wheelhouse is almost finished. Above centre: The most modern facilities are included in the saloon. Right: A section of the stern cabin. Far right: Bob Screen working on the 54ft mizzen mast. On the floor is the 64ft mainmast still to be fashioned.
