Big Prizes at Antique Sale
Antique furniture, vases, figurines, silverware and a host of other antique and Victorian items went under the auctioneer's hammer in Nelson recently. All were from the estate of the late Miss Ralphine Richardson. A big crowd of buy-. ers from many parts of New Zealand, and from Nelson, were augmented by many who just came "to see". Prices, on the whole, were moderate, but in a few cases quite high.

Sixteen pieces of Victorian furniture, including a settee, chairs, and footstools, all matched, were sold individually 1 and brought a total of $837.

This Victorian circular dining table sold for $410.
One of the finest pieces was this beautiful mahogany secretaire (1860). A very close examination disclosed 17 drawers and cabinets. It brought $620.
