Cooper Cup Races

The intermediate Cooper Cup races provided the thrills at this year's series at Nelson College. Before the final race, clear-cut winners for both junior and senior grades had been found. But in the intermediate section, Bruce Dellow and Grant Nelson each had a win to his credit. It was a great final, with only seconds separating Dellow, the winner, from Nelson (far right). A triumphant Dellow (above), and a tired Nelson finishing (centre right). At top is the start of the junior event, won outright, with three wins, by Kim Gallagher (above centre).
