Shield Sidelights

A very big contingent of Nelson and Bays supporters travelled to Westport to spur their team on to victory in the Seddon Shield match. At the after-match function, opportunity was taken to make several presentations, chief of which were to John Chadwick (above) who received his blazer, after playing his 50th game for the province, from Nelson union president, Lloyd Cederman. Another presentation was made by Peter Wild, chairman of the combined executive committee, of a Golden Bay-Motueka tie to Bill Crad-dock (Mr Buller Rugby) (above).
