The Stupidity Of Some People!

If it wasn't for the fact that we don't think a three-year old child could climb the fence or use a pair of wire cutters to each good effect, we would have said that the person or persons who cut holes in the bird and animal cages of Natureland was a mere infant. It was certainly an infantile act, not a prank, hardly vandalism. We think this sort of action was sheer lunacy. The American racoons which escaped from the cage (below) were on loan to the Nelson City Council. And since they've gone missing, you, the ratepayers, are going to have to pay the $100, the sum at which they are valued. The hole that Jaycee member Nelson Crosbie is displaying here was cut with heavy duty cutters, obviously so that the animals could escape.
